Welcome to Muse (“the App”, “we”, “us”). Muse is a perfume library and scent companion for iOS and Android. Your privacy matters. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use the App or visit muse-perfumes.com.

By using Muse, you agree to the practices described here.

2. Information We Collect

Account information

When you sign in (Google, Apple, or other providers we support), we may collect:

Email address
Display name and profile photo (when you choose to set them)
Authentication provider identifiers
Firebase / account user ID used to sync your library

Library & profile data

To provide core features we may store:

Bookmarks, wardrobe (owned / tried / wishlist), and collections
Scent-of-the-day selections
Profile visibility preferences
Follower / following relationships when you use social features

Usage & device data

We may automatically collect:

Device type and operating system
App version and crash diagnostics (e.g. Firebase Crashlytics)
Anonymous analytics events (e.g. Firebase Analytics) when enabled
Performance and stability logs

AI & media features

Some features send data to our backend or agent services:

Concierge prompts (mood, occasion, wardrobe context)
Explore photo search images for bottle recognition
Chat messages related to perfume recommendations

Content is processed to deliver the feature you requested, not for unrelated advertising profiles.

Subscriptions & payments

Paid plans are processed by Apple App Store or Google Play. We receive subscription status and entitlement signals; we do not store full payment card numbers.

3. How We Use Your Data

We use data to:

Operate the catalog, feed, explore, wardrobe, and profile experiences
Sync your library when signed in
Run AI Concierge, visual search, and related recommendations
Show social features you opt into (followers, public scent-of-day)
Process subscriptions and restore purchases
Improve reliability, security, and product quality
Respond to support and legal requests

4. Legal Bases (EEA / UK)

Where applicable, we rely on contract (providing the App), legitimate interests (security, analytics, product improvement), and consent where required (e.g. optional marketing or certain cookies on the website).

5. Sharing & Processors

We use service providers such as:

Google Firebase (auth, analytics, crash reporting, messaging)
Cloud hosting for API and agent infrastructure
AI providers for concierge, recognition, and related agents

They process data under our instructions and their own privacy terms. We do not sell your personal information.

6. Retention

We retain account and library data while your account is active. You may delete your account in Settings; we anonymise or remove associated profile and library data subject to legal retention limits.

7. Your Choices

Edit display name and profile privacy in the App
Sign out or delete your account in Settings
Disable analytics/crash collection where your device or OS allows
Unfollow users or set a private profile

8. Children

Muse is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect data from children.

9. International Transfers

Data may be processed in countries where we or our providers operate. We use appropriate safeguards where required by law.

10. Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date above and, where appropriate, in-app notice.
